Back to October

Post Edit: I've posted three new posts in the past couple of days. You may need to go to "older posts" at the bottom of this page in case you missed the other two.

Reid giving me a preview of his day's agenda. Over the following week, he ended up crawling back up on the changing table, on top of the coffee table, up on the couch, and on top of the chair. By himself. Apparently, he gets this from my Cousin Adam. I'm just hoping it takes awhile before he figures out how to exit his crib. Aiden is always willing to join in.

The chair currently sits sideways to discourage climbing. It's a matter of time before they figure out how to push it back into a climbing-ready position.

I cashed in our Pampers points to get the boys some blocks. They enjoy them so far, especially taking apart the towers Eric and I build.

Hanging out on the front porch.

Exploring the side yard.

Eric has been busy teaching the boys how to use their utensils. They're doing pretty well, although it's lead to some messy meal times.

Helping Daddy vacuum. They were a little scared at first, but later were more than willing to help Daddy manage the cord.

After a long hiatus, Eric put the boys back in their bouncers. They enjoyed the novelity, but were pretty tame compared to their bouncing glory days. I guess they're too tall to really launch themselves.

Back over to the park. Aiden was all smiles during swinging. Reid enjoyed it too, but seemed to get bored so we took the boys out to give them a chance to wander around. Let's just say Eric and I were quickly reminded why the boys are always strapped in their strollers if we ever take them somewhere by ourselves. They both decided to walk/jog/run. In the opposite direction, of course. It's pretty amazing how much ground they can cover in so little time.

Snack time. Aiden likes to practice walking around on his tippy-toes.

Hard to beat snacking and climbing on the stairs.

I'm training for a half marathon in mid-November. The boys and I survived a 90-minute training run last weekend. It was quite a bit chillier, but I was pleased to find out the extra big winter coats from last year now fit them pretty well. My running buddies did well, but did end up catching a few zzzz's toward the end of the run.

Aiden peaking out the side of the stroller during yesterday's run. For the 2nd time this week, I spotted a cute little sock along our running path. I then realized that Aiden had tossed his sock overboard during a previous lap. Good thing I tend to run in circles. (Aiden, with socks back on.)

My mom and I took the boys out to a new quilt shop this afternoon, called Snappy Quilts. We LOVED it. What a great selection of beautiful fabrics and enough hustle-bustle to keep the boys entertained. (I always assure Eric that the boys start crying as soon as I drag them into a yarn or fabric store. I would hate for them to break some guy code rule. It may look like Reid is smiling, but I'm sure he was grimacing in pain. Yeah. That's it.)

We picked up Panera on the way home from the shop. The boys had a lot of energy to burn, so they chose to sprint back and forth between me and my mom. Lots of good opportunities for hugs.
