Warp Speed through April

I really want to get the ol' blog completely updated, but April is flying by at warp speed and I can't sneak in enough time to get it accomplished. Here are bunch from April 13th. These two crack me up. They're back to being somewhat willing to smile for pictures again. Maybe it's because our babies/toddlers are turning into little boys on Tuesday. Three years!!! How in the world did that happen?

Reid still flaps his arms really fast when he gets excited. He wanted to see how all these pictures were turning out. It's nice to be able to show them pictures right away because it seems to make them more willing to have their picture taken.
"Let me see, Mom. Let me see."

Eric is starting a 6-day trip tomorrow, so we did the weigh-ins tonight. Reid weighs 35.2 pounds and is 39.5 inches tall. Aiden weighs 32.8 pounds and is 37.5 inches tall.

I just attended a national math teacher conference last Thursday and Friday. Luckily, it was held in Denver so I didn't need to travel anywhere. I have the 9th Annual Pi Mile race next Sunday in addition to the boys' birthday dinner with our family, Grandma, and my cousin John's family on Sunday evening. Lots to do to get ready for both of those occasions.

First Half of March

Working on their writing/coloring.  (They're both still in the scribbling stage of writing, but can recognize some key letters. Whenever they see an "A" or "R", they say it's their name or letter or word, even if the rest of the word is not their name. They also recognize "M" and "D" and know they stand for Mom and Dad.)

Quite often Reid will say he's making a grocery list and then ask us to suggest items for the list. "What should I get next, Mom? What should I get next?"

 Spaghetti at Grandma's is always a hit.

I attended a funeral for the mom of one of my students. It was held up in the mountains in Evergreen at this neat barn church.

The boys greeting me as I returned home from a marathon shopping session of buying clothes for them and groceries. I recently took down the last gate which blocked off access to this door and laundry room. It's still surprising me when they open the door, but they're good about standing at the top of the stairs until I turn the engine off.

Aiden couldn't wait to dig in.

I found Rockies jackets for the boys. My dad never met a jacket or pair of sporty shoes/sandals he didn't like, so I think he would have enjoyed seeing these little jackets.

Reid was reading off his list to me: "Milk, juice, supper, potatoes, milk, apples, juice, milk, bananas, yogurt, and waffles." A little redundancy, but still a decent list.

Pie was on sale the day before Pi Day. I bought some for my students which they enjoyed.

I took the boys over to a baseball game at school after I picked them up from Jocie's. They lasted through about 5 minutes of watching the game.

But thoroughly enjoyed the journey to and from the field.

Drinking milk while we waited for our take-out order from Noodles and Co.

Good thing I still have room on my lap to snuggle both my little guys.

I guess I took a little too much time getting the boys out of their room after naptime, as I caught them attempting a prison break. I think it would have worked a little better for Aiden to do the climbing, given his core strength. Good effort, guys.
