Summer 2013 Road Trip | Entry 6

Day 4:
Ohio, Wednesday

Enjoyed playing in Grandpa's big backyard. It was plenty humid for this dry climate girl:

Reid working on his slide:

Cooling off inside:

Split rail fences were made for climbing:
Visiting Grandma at her care facility:
The boys enjoyed seeing pictures of themselves in her room:

Touring around:
There was a couple performing songs in one of the gathering areas:
The boys enjoyed listening for a bit:
Following the blue tiles in the hallway while Eric and Marlowe visited with Jean:

Reid has enjoyed playing some very loud organ concerts for us, including singing "A, B, C" or "Twinkle" at the top of his lungs.
Some times Aiden joins him at the bench. This time we were both wondering when our ears were going to get some relief:
A common sight; Aiden's cars all lined up:
Nap time in another "big" bed:
Evening play:

With Cousin Jordan too!
Humidity is my cryptonite, so I lounged in the grass:
More fence-climbing:
Posing with Cousin Jordan before bedtime:

Summer 2013 Road Trip | Entry 5

Day 3:
Tuesday
600 Miles (Iowa - Illinois - Indiana - Ohio)

We did lunch at a rest area again. Thanks for the PB&J supplies, Marita! This rest area was in eastern Iowa near the Quad Citities. A bit of trivia: Auntie Jennifer was born in Davenport, IA, one of the Quad Cities. Eric's family moved to Ohio prior to Eric's arrival.

The Mississippi River:
Welcome to Illinois:
Honk Shoo. Actually I didn't do any snoozing. Eric was doing all the driving and I seemed to be at the boys' call just as I was nodding off.

Aiden was once again the nap-taker, while Reid powered through the afternoon:
The Illinois:
Reid was excited to point out wind mills in eastern Illinois:

Welcome to Indiana:
First time to eat at a Steak 'n Shake; just on the west side of Indianapolis:

Reid finally cashed in after supper. Poor guy had a tough day without a nap:
Indianapolis Colts' stadium:
First sign of Dayton:
Aiden said he was sleeping too so I should take a picture of him:
The paper car from the Steak 'n Shake
was a big hit:
Reid Hospital sign in eastern Indiana:
Welcome to Ohio:
The Englewood water tower:
1329.6 miles from Colorado... we arrived!
