December Daily 8

Another beautiful sunrise. This is the view out the window at the end of my wing. We're up on a bluff overlooking sports fields and a golf course.

Pre-K pics:

The boys had their school holiday musical program tonight. They split the program into two sessions. We were in the 2nd session because the boys are among the oldest at their school. It was held at a local church.

Lucky for us, the boys ended up front and center so I, Grandma, and Eric could take lots of photos and video. Eric was on video duty and I'll have them uploaded to "Bru Tube" as soon as I have the chance. It was awesome! I get a little choked up when we get to attend milestone events like these. I feel very fortunate to have kids and be able to experience these things.

It was fun to see how much the boys got into the acting and actions of the songs.

After we got the stars to bed, I went back over to school to work on sub plans for tomorrow. I need a full day to focus on grading, so I'm getting a sub. Is there any other job where employees use their personal days to get caught up on work? (Seriously, I'm curious.) In addition to writing up sub plans, I also had to type up final exam reviews for the next couple of days and respond to emails. A few hours later and I made it home just before my mini van turned into a pumpkin. This, my friends, is why teachers need breaks.

The tenacity and dedication with which you teach is inspiring! Teachers are tremendously underappreciated and underpaid. Your willingness to use your personal days is further proof that you care deeply for the job you do and the lives you touch. And yes, I was guilty of working on vacation days to keep from falling behind!
