December Daily 20

Eric began teaching the boys how to play chess. Thought that was a gutsy move, but the boys paid attention pretty well. Later on they were standing facing each other and pretending they were the chess pieces. "You can move two forward and one to the left."

Eric took Reid shopping to pick out a present for Aiden from Reid. Aiden went shopping with me. My favorite cross stitch store is going out of business and today was the last day her doors were open. I bought a ton of crafty supplies (about $600 worth) for only $50. Skeins of DMC floss were only $.10, which is unheard of. Aiden was a good, patient helper. The store owner and her mother were always very complimentary of the boys' behavior when we visited. It helped that I could hand them my iPhone to play games when they started getting antsy. We drove out to the mall after that, but the parking lot was so packed I realized I was pushing my luck. We circled around and drove back home.

I liked this quote one of my fellow math teachers posted on Facebook.

Reid hiding under the table when he and Eric were playing tag.

More Hello Kitty progress. I love how it's turning out. It's a fun, cute pattern I found on Pinterest.

Reid trying on the hat I knit for Baby Miri. I still need to line it with fleece.
