Vacuuming My Washing Machine. Again.

Dear Faithful Readers,
Unfortunately, you know where I'm going with this post. Yes, I did it again. Sigh. Tonight I spent an hour vacuuming diaper absorbency crystals from the washing machine. It turns out that it's a million times worse when it's two size 4 diapers versus three size 1 diapers. Please, learn from my mistakes! (You too, Future Keri!)

After supper I had the thought that maybe I could put a trail of Cheerios leading up to the nursery and then go to bed. I figured eventually the boys would put themselves to bed. They like to climb on things. If they could figure out how to get on top of the kitchen table while I had left the room for 10 seconds, I'm sure they could figure out a way into their cribs. Apparently, I was more out of it than I realized.

It's been a trying couple of weeks. Nothing awful. Just many things adding up to be very trying and tiring. I pulled the plug on doing the half-marathon which was held yesterday. I went on their website last weekend and they were newly advertising that water would be very limited and runners should pack their own. What?!? Isn't that the point of hosting a race? Supporting the runners? I've never run with water packs, so that had me really concerned. Plus, I didn't want to buy something just for one race. I hadn't been able to run as much the past few weeks and I was worried I would be putting my tired self through 13.1 miles of torture. I mainly had the half-marathon as a goal to get myself running again. I'm pleased that strategy did work. So it's not a total loss. Hopefully next year I'll be able to try for it again.

The boys' take on Halloween candy this year? It's super fun to dump out over and over again and play with. They never did figure out how to open the wrappers. Although, Aiden did manage to open a box of Nerds and scatter those all of the floor before we caught him. At first, I thought it was blood splatter because he was sitting at the bottom of the stairs and had endured a couple of bad spills during that week. He was safe and sound and liked the Nerds he was able to sneak.

Yesterday, the wrecking crew enjoyed clearing out the plastic utensil drawer. Reid enjoyed being the instigator in this adventure, while Aiden provided plenty of giggling support.

Reid bonked himself on the head after one of his tosses. He even thought that was funny.

Most of today was actually pretty good. We video chatted with Eva who was visiting my cousin Amy's family in Seattle.
The view from Seattle:

The view from Littleton:

After that, my mom and I went to a shower for cousin-in-law Jeani and baby Leah.

Time to solidify what I'm teaching tomorrow. One more week before Thanksgiving break!

(ISU friends- Remember "Clonus"? Where are we on that technology, because I could use a few more of me.)

Thanks for posting the view from your end! That was fun chatting with you guys. Sorry I had to run off to answer the door (it was my popcorn delivery from the neighborhood cub scouts). Elizabeth has been bugging me about visiting her 'new' relatives in Denver. Maybe next June?
