Thanksgiving Day

Welcome to Post #500!!!

I think it's fitting that this post's topic is Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for all of you out there in the blogosphere, my friends, my family, and my school family. I hope all of you had a nice Thanksgiving.

Checking out the Black Friday ads.

David, Kelsey, and Eva arrived Thanksgiving morning. Eva sat in a Bumbo chair in between Grandpa and Kelsey. Every so often, we could see her cute little head bopping around, barely visible above the table.
The boys liked the Jello best. I discovered that it's impossible to overeat when you're trying to take care of two toddlers during Thanksgiving dinner. I barely finished my original serving and didn't even have a piece of pumpkin pie- one of my favorites! Better for the ol' waist line, I suppose.

Can you spot Eva?
There she is!
These two pictures are to remind me to avoid red Jello for a while. Tough to clean up.

Eva checking out the feast. Her bib: "Let's do lunch!"
Rocking with my boys.
The weather was gorgeous, so we spent some time after the noon dinner running around outside.
Giving Uncle David hugs.

Hanging out on the front porch.
Setting the cousins up for some pictures with Grandpa and Grandma.

Learning to hang with her boy cousins. Chicken fight!
Joe Cool in Uncle David's sunglasses.

Aiden showing Uncle David the garage door. We're currently in the stage where we can call out the name of an object and the boys will rush over to touch it. "Door", "wall", "night light", and "floor" are some of their favorites. They also spend a lot of time pointing to objects and asking "That?" I think they're holding out on us and then one day they are going to start speaking in full sentences just to give us a total shock. Aiden read a couple of books tonight (Monday) to me and Eric. It was really cute and amazing how much each page had to say according to his version of the stories. Of course, we didn't understand a single word, but it was still really cute.

We had my mom's brother's family over for supper on Thanksgiving evening. I will admit that I miss being able to sit down and have conversations with people. Lots of running around for the parents of the toddlers. It was a lot of fun to have so much hustle and bustle. I'll catch up with everyone in a few years.
Cousin Jacob.
Aunt Debi with Eva.

Five of my grandma's great grandkids- Aiden, Reid, Eva, Jacob, and Leah. Held by brother David and cousin John.
Good thing David and John could give us some smiles, because there was no way the little ones were going to go for that nonsense. Leah even managed to sleep through the entire ordeal.

Aiden and Eva.
There's a smile. Good job, Eva!
Playing with the Navity set with cousin Jacob.
My mom with cousin Leah.
Jeani captured some better straight-on photos than I did:

Unfortunately, I failed to get photos of my cousin Mark and his wife Jennifer, my uncle Kent, or my dad. I had just put in a 6-day stretch without Eric in town. By Thursday night, I was exhausted. However, I'm grateful I was able to spend time with so many family members.

We love all those great pictures! Elizabeth giggled about the 'Chicken Fight' caption. She really wants to have a reunion so she can hang out with the babies and toddlers.
