My little brother with his little Eva.
Our first Facetime chat on her birthday. You can't see the boys very well, but they're in the bottom right hand corner of the image. They had the biggest grins on their faces the entire time Eva was on the screen. David and Kelsey warned me that we would need to be quiet because they were sitting in the nursery when we were chatting. I knew I could be quiet, but I wasn't sure about my monkeys. Well, they did great. We've been practicing saying Eva. Reid will grin at her picture, but no words. I've gotten Aiden to say "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" a few times, which totally counts. We know who he's talking about.
Here are some images from tonight's chat. You can see Aiden checking out Eva in the bottom right-hand corner of the image. (Look, it's one of our monkey chairs!)
Here's Reid chatting with his cousin.
Auntie Keri and Grandpa taking a peek at his new granddaughter.
The proud parents. Eric and I were talking about how we hope they're getting more rest tonight (their first night home from the hospital) than we did. That harrowing tale is recounted here. I was a little worried we were going to have to return to the hospital so the nurses could take care of the boys while Eric and I slept.
A real juxtaposition of actions going on in this shot. The boys walking all over while Eva tries to take a siesta.
We're really looking forward to meeting Eva in person. What a cutie.

Some other pictures from the last few days.
Aiden, not happy. We're going to have to figure out how to tone down his overreacting. Poor little guy gets upset pretty fast.
Reid playing with the empty paper towel roll that Grandma had just replaced.
15 seconds later and Aiden is fine again.
Funny face Reid:
Funny face Aiden:
A teacher at school said she used gates as a way to block off a little time-out area when her daughter was little. Worked great, and her daughter now obeys her every word. When Aiden bit Reid the other day, I decided to make a little time-out area in the hallway/alcove just outside the laundry room. Aiden thought that was a great idea and started giggling and having a great time. Reid, who I had managed to settle down after being bitten, started crying again. He was upset Aiden was having all of the fun and quickly toddled over to try to open the gate into the time-out region. Sigh.
I glanced over the other day to see Reid doing this. He held this pose for quite a while. Maybe it's part of his baby yoga routine.
Destroying the kitchen so I can cook supper.
Haircut time again.
I stripped them down to their undershirts to avoid getting hair all over while I cleaned up.
One of my new favorite pictures:
You're right, Reid. My head is much cooler with shorter hair.
Oh, hi Mama. Taking pictures again? Surprise, surprise.
Finally, anytime we say the words nose or pig (piggies), the boys scrunch up their noses and let out some pretty good snorts.

Downward Dog! Whenever we say that, Lila and Wyatt assume the same position Reid was in. Baby yoga!
So let me get this straight...not only does Reid get bitten, but then he gets fenced out of the exciting new time-out area. Oddly enough we studied both battery (intentional and offensive touching of another) and false imprisonment (restraint of a person in a bounded area) today.

The above is also an indication I've been in this library too long. Seeing A, R, and E does make for a nice break.
