Happy Birthday and Easter

Thursday:
We took the boys outside to play, but before we could go out, they wanted Eric to read a new book that one of the neighbors passed along. The boys still really enjoy reading, which we're happy to accommodate.
Friday (My birthday):
During first hour, I received a text from Eric saying Aiden was throwing up. Eric had scheduled two appointments for house-related things that morning, so I called up Grandma to see if she could come over and help out. When I arrived home, Aiden was sound asleep on her lap.
Poor little guy needed a lot of snuggling time.

Reid (knock on wood) has stayed healthy and was happy to finish Daddy's Raisinets.
And ate lunch without his buddy.
Reid can reach the shutters to the side of his crib. When we put them down for a nap, he likes to bounce around for a while and usually ends up opening the shades. I try to sneak back in once they're both asleep and close them. First, I took advantage of the bright light and took some pictures of them sleeping.
Monkey from Grandpa and Grandma Brusven has provided a lot of comfort for Aiden this weekend:
Tulips I received from my parents:
Pocketbooth with Reid:
When I sing to the boys before bedtime, Reid has started singing with me. I usually sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Usually, it's a little off key and in Norwegian, but last night he sang "high" at the right time. I was really looking forward to hearing what he sang when I was sung to for my birthday, but I didn't get sung to this year. Hopefully, next year will be better.
Flowers from David, Kelsey, and Eva:
After nap, I gave Aiden some Teddy Grahams to test out his stomach.
This photo makes Aiden look so much like photos of Eric when he was little:
Teddy Grahams didn't sit well. Nothing like getting urped up on for your birthday.
Grandma came over for birthday supper, and Reid was excited to have someone to play with. He and Grandma invented some wild game. He waved two spatulas in the air and let Grandma choose one. As long as she chose the smaller one, everything was good. Then they ran around and there was some waving spatulas at each other, hiding, chasing, and surprising involved. It was funny to hear Reid shriek/giggle when Grandma surprised him.

Poor, puny Aiden.
I was exited when Eric found out he would be home for my birthday. It was nice to be able to spend time with all three of my guys. I was hoping for a good (rare) picture of all four of us, but given the day's (entire weekend's) circumstances, that was asking for too much.

After the boys were in bed, my mom and I went over to visit my dad. She brought along her laptop so he could see the latest blog updates. On Saturday morning, I drove downtown for my last support class for Natl Board Certification. There were two other math teachers, from different districts, in the class. I enjoyed meeting them and getting some fresh ideas. This time, we discussed strategies for taking the content test.
It's really starting to green up outside:
The state capital with some scaffolding around the lower level (below the dome). I think they are working on some restoration.
Aiden was still feeling so-so. Reid ate lunch by himself again.
Aiden was out cold, when I arrived home from class. By supper time, he was starting to feel better and did eat with us.
Easter Sunday:
We hid eggs around our family room for the boys to hide. Reid had a head start as Aiden finished breakfast.

Reid brought some eggs over for Aiden:

Instead of putting the eggs in his basket, Aiden liked to pile them around the monkey:
And try on Daddy's shoes. It's easy to get distracted:
We re-hid the eggs a few times:
I wasn't going to dye eggs, but was guilted into it by someone at school. Big mistake. The boys wanted to help more than I could let them, which I was afraid would happen. Once again, hoping next year will be better.
I was able to let Reid help me make Easter dinner. He was happy to help.
I bought the boys some news shoes, but they're so used to the moccasin-style ones, that they both started sobbing. I decided to take them outside and entice them with their soccer balls. Reid reluctantly went first, but Aiden held out most of the time we were outside. I carried Aiden around while I passed the soccer ball to Reid.
Eventually, Aiden joined in.
Thankfully, no missteps. Reid was on the go, as usual.

From my camera:
Happy Easter, everyone!
Happy Easter, Grandma!
