End of April (Part II)

A few more pictures from the end of April.

From Jennifer's phone:
I ordered this rice paper cake-topper before the boys' birthday, but I wasn't sure it would arrive in time. I decided I should probably order a regular cake instead. Good thing this was a week-long event, as we had a chance to celebrate with Auntie Jennifer. Ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Sorry you missed it, Uncle Shane!
At the zoo. Jennifer captured Aiden's favorite part of the visit- all of the Toyota cars and ads which were featured throughout the zoo:
Reid spent the most time watching the penguins:
A bald eagle:
In the elevator, heading back to our van:
We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner on Saturday. We had quite a long wait, but the boys hung in there. Aiden was pretty silly and wandered around mingling with the other guests. While one gentleman did a good job of entertaining Aiden, I think we'll have to start talking about "Stranger Danger", as Aiden was a little too eager to wander away from us.
Reid spent quite a bit of time on my iPhone, using an app called "Alphabeast":

Finishing up April, with photos from my phone:

Sandy gave the boys some outdoor toys for their birthday. Reid likes the hockey stick the best and Aiden's favorite is the lawn mower:
Helping Mama set the table:
On Thursday, we took the boys to the mall to get new shoes. I had bought them new shoes a few weeks ago, but Reid kept saying "tight" every time we put them on. I decided we should probably have their feet measured. I had bought them size 6, but Reid ended up needing 7 1/2 and Aiden needs 6 1/2. Luckily, the store exchanged the other shoes. The boys also liked grabbing shoes off of the shelves, confirming my practice of rarely taking them shopping with me. Unless they are strapped into a stroller. They especially liked the "Mo-mo" shoes. Elmo.
(On a related note, 2-year measurements: Aiden- 33.5 inches tall and 27.2 pounds; Reid- 35.5 inches tall and 30.2 pounds. Their 2-year checkup is this week, so we'll see what they measure there.)
Sharing a time-out because they couldn't share. Ironic, I suppose:
Visiting Grandpa:
A zoo pic:
I sat behind Reid in the van and he wanted to hold my hand on the ride home:
It didn't take long for both of them to fall fast asleep:
Reid feeding himself with two spoons at Texas Roadhouse. I swear we feed him at home:
Today's nap. Still recovering from the zoo:
