End of April (Part I)

Auntie Jennifer came for a visit this weekend. We wanted to do something special, so I suggested a trip to the zoo on Saturday morning. In fact, this was our first trip to the zoo with the boys and it went pretty well.

The first animals we saw were the zebras. Luckily, these are high-profile in several of our alphabet books, so the boys were pretty intrigued.
This tiger was growling really loud. I'm not sure I've heard a tiger growl before. It was fierce!

Some giraffes:
Look how tall they are, Ma!
For you St. Olaf fans, the Polar Bears' playground ship was the SS Olaf:
Waiting to see if any polar bears will swim by:
Both boys wanted to push the stroller at various times. That was not ideal, but I tried to keep one hand on the stroller to help steer. The boys also tended to wander off in opposite directions, of course. It was nice to have Jennifer to help us wrangle our monkeys.
Lizards:
Fish:
Snake:
Howler monkeys- VERY LOUD!
BIG fish:
Seals or Sea Lions (I didn't get the sign read, but there is a difference!)

I liked the sign on the bathroom, except it's missing another baby elephant. (On a related note- Whenever I see pictures of a family in the hospital with a new baby, I always find myself searching for the second baby. Especially in C-section pictures, when they're in the operating room.)
Another attempt for a brother photo. The mesh on the fencing is "hiding" the new elephant territory which will open in June. It looks awesome and gives the elephants a lot more room.
Held my camera over the fence and spotted one of the elephants wondering around his new digs:

Another view of the elephant:
Hippo:
Reid's favorite exhibit- The penguins:
Aiden was getting worn out and decided to head back to the stroller.
Might be one of my favorite animals- The flamingos:
More monkeys:
Some cute little rodent:

Last chance for photos. Thanks for visiting, Auntie Jennifer! We enjoyed spending time with you.
