December Daily 14

I drove to Evergreen this morning to attend the service of the dad of a former student. It was held in a barn that was fabricated from several other barns and a church. The service was very nice and personable.

After arriving back down the mountain I did a little Christmas shopping. I thought this ornament display in one of the stores was so pretty.

When I arrived home, Reid was eager to show me a Christmas carousel decoration Eric found in the basement. Eric's mom gave it to us in 2008.

The elves enjoyed helping me put out the rest of the Christmas decorations.

And decorate the tree.

Aiden wanted to take some pictures using Eric's phone. He figured it out pretty quickly.

And took some good photos.

While in the basement, Aiden spotted the car race track, so we had to fire it up again.

Holding their Dusty airplane ornaments to commemorate their first theatre-going movie, Planes.

A few of our ornaments. For me, of course:

A red airplane for Eric from 2011:

A bear from Rocky Mountain National Park to commemorate our visit to Estes Park with my college friends in July, 2012:

Commemorating our new babies. Yes, we bought two of these:

From Eric's sister, Jennifer. Our first Xmas together, a couple of months after we were engaged in October, 2005:

From Eric's collection:

The rest are from Eric's phone:

A week or two ago. Testing out the new snow pants and boots:

Last week's ornament making:

The boys are doing elf on a shelf at school. The director posted this picture. Aiden is at the bottom with the elf hat slipping over his eyes. Reid is the grinch at the top who refused to wear an elf hat or smile. (This pic's for you, Paul.)
