Photo Memories

My cousin Paul changed his Facebook profile picture to one of my dad and Reid (See below). That was really touching to see. I, along with some other family members, decided to do the same.

In chronological order...

My brother's choice:

This from my dad's 8th grade class photo. He definitely had his growth spurt well before the others:

My dad's cousin Barb scanned this one in and shared it via Facebook. Front: My dad's cousins: Barb, Mary, and Gail. Back: My Uncle Bill, my Dad, and my dad's Uncle Bill, who was my grandma's brother.

My Aunt Marita chose one from my parents' wedding day:

I picked one from my wedding day:

A photo from her high school graduation was my cousin Julie's choice:

My cousin Paul's choice- Gee, I wonder who Reid resembles?:

Eric's choice- A tribute to a big-time sports fan and his two little guys:

My sister-in-law Kelsey's pick- Grandpa visiting baby Eva:

My mom's pick- My dad's 70th birthday this past December:

It was a surreal and very slow week for me. However, I'm glad it was fairly slow, as I don't think I would have been up for too fast of a pace. I'm collecting photos from relatives to put together a slide show for my dad's memorial service. Of course, it's been bittersweet to see what everyone sends.

The day after he passed away, I wrote my dad's obituary, which was published in today's newspaper. That was not something I planned on doing for a very long time. I was thankful that my dad had written my Grandparents' obituaries and I was able to use them to help write his. I'm also working on the program for his service and writing a eulogy. David, along with a couple of my dad's friends, will also deliver eulogies. I anticipate a lot of people attending the memorial service, including many of my former teachers, so I want to make sure I write down what I want to say. It's sure to be an emotional day.
