My mom's pick- My dad's 70th birthday this past December:
It was a surreal and very slow week for me. However, I'm glad it was fairly slow, as I don't think I would have been up for too fast of a pace. I'm collecting photos from relatives to put together a slide show for my dad's memorial service. Of course, it's been bittersweet to see what everyone sends.
The day after he passed away, I wrote my dad's obituary, which was published in today's newspaper. That was not something I planned on doing for a very long time. I was thankful that my dad had written my Grandparents' obituaries and I was able to use them to help write his. I'm also working on the program for his service and writing a eulogy. David, along with a couple of my dad's friends, will also deliver eulogies. I anticipate a lot of people attending the memorial service, including many of my former teachers, so I want to make sure I write down what I want to say. It's sure to be an emotional day.
