More of May

Catching up with some May happenings...

Playing with bubble wrap from Mama's latest Amazon order:

Being silly at supper time and lying down on their chairs:

At the lunch counter. As soon as we start making lunch, the boys rush over to grab the chairs and pull them over to the counter. It was a treat that Eric started with the boys, and has worked well enough for us to continue:
Playing with the plasma cars while Uncle David was still in town:

Facetime chatting with Cousin Eva and Auntie Kelsey:

Reid checking Uncle David's temperature:
Heading to the airport to drop off David. This is a common mannerism of David, which is why I like this picture:
Ma and Sonny:
Siblings:
Elmo action on the iPad:
Evening-time play:

My ISU friends sent these beautiful flowers which arrived a couple of days after my dad passed away. As I carried them to the counter and started to set them down, I exclaimed to Eric, "ISU colors!" Thanks, friends! It really brightened our house.

A couple of elk visiting our neighborhood:
You can always tell when the boys have put away the silverware:

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed: (Check out "Bru Tube" for the corresponding video.)

Jeani brought over a delicious tater-tot casserole. It was so good to be able to chat and have the little ones over for a while. I hope we can get together frequently this summer. Here are Leah and Jacob:
Aiden was especially curious about baby Leah. He was tickling her head while Jeani took her bag out to the car:

Playing with Grandma:
We took the boys to church for the first time since their baptism. I'm not sure what took us so long, besides the usual concerns of trying to go anywhere with two in tow. This was their first time in the nursery and they did a great job. They started playing with the toys right away and didn't even notice when we walked out the door:
Eric did go back for one last peek before we went into the sanctuary for the service:
Back at home, after church. We bought a step stool so the boys can wash their hands in the bathroom sink:

Wandering off the path:
I'm going to be department chair/manager next year (excited, but eek!), so I took the boys to the office supply store to get organized:
Are you sure you need so many dividers, Mama?!?

After supper, we headed over to the park for a little get-together put on by the city. We were too late for the ice cream, but the boys did enjoy getting to sit in the fire truck:

Aiden enjoyed swinging a hula hoop around:

 Slides!

 Swings!

Helping Mama push the stroller home:
Grandma and Reid were cruising home, while Aiden was pretty slow trying to push the stroller:
Reid saw how far behind we were and turned back to scoot us along:

Then both of them got distracted wandering into the (dry) drainage ditch:

Daddy getting the explorers back on the right path:
Reid giving me help:
Checking out Grandma's pictures:
On Thursday, we had graduation at Red Rocks. It was a little chilly at times, but overall a beautiful day:
Heading down to the bus:
Today-
Aiden still loves his lawn mower:
Reid loves playing hockey:
They also spent some time "driving" my van.
My friends' original flower order got messed up, some how. To make up for it, the company sent a second bouquet today, which was a complete surprise to me. So nice to have more flowers:

I took my math assessment for the National Board Certification this past Monday. I originally had it scheduled for June 4th, a couple of days after my dad's memorial service, so I decided to see if I could move it. This was the only other time, so I went for it. There were six, 30-minute tests: Algebra, Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Geometry, Statistics and Data Analysis, and Families of Functions. Considering I didn't do a lick of studying, I think I did pretty well, except for Calculus. Having never taught it, I found myself trying to remember back to my high school days for part of the test. But, I'm OK with that. I gave myself permission to not stress about it, take the test, and see what happens. I'm really glad I've taught Statistics, as that came in handy for a couple of the tests.

Missing my dad. A lot. I am enjoying reading the memories of my dad that people have shared in the sympathy cards sent to me and/or my mom. It's neat to read such nice words about someone we loved so much.
