Aiden is still good at saying the word ha-T. I made them wear their hats when I took them out for a run a few days ago. It was a little overcast and cool; perfect for running. I think the boys have figured out that we mostly dress them alike, because the first thing they did was look at each other to try to figure out what was on their heads. (Don't be too judgemental. 1. It's much easier to pick out the same outfit twice. 2. They look cute. 3. Finally, they're 13 months old. How could they have strong opinions about fashion at this point? Being the master parents that we are (ha-ha), we also spend an appropriate amount of time fostering their individual needs, so no need to worry.)
Also notice that Reid is grasping the red rings attached to the buckle/latches. He usually will hold onto them during the entire ride. Sometimes he'll let go of the left one so he can suck his thumb too.
Reid is getting really good at standing without holding onto anything. He can hold it anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds. Then, he usually takes a big lunge forward. I think he's itching to start walking. This may be the first physical milestone he reaches before Aiden.
The boys are growing so fast. I just bought the boys new shoes in the 12-18 month size and we're phasing out many of their 12-month outfits.
The boys also did a good job of helping me with one of my knitting projects. They were busy reading their books so I thought it would be safe to work on the project in the same room with them. Ha! It was too tempting to leave me alone, so I gave them a ball of yarn to unravel. Reid especially enjoys physical humor, so he thought this was great. I think Aiden was busy analyzing the rotation of the ball as Reid pulled the yarn off.
The boys are great at supervising Daddy as he slaves away outside. Of course, we've kept Eric pretty busy inside this past year, so it's been a bigger challenge to tame the yard this year.
The boys know where their heads are. We're also working on ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. So far their hands go to the same location on their heads no matter what we're asking them to identify. Well, occasionally they do identify their noses by sticking their fingers up their noses. I guess that counts for something.
They're REALLY good at making piggy faces and snorts. This will be especially helpful if Great Auntie Marita gets homesick and misses her piggies back in Iowa.
Two more non-photographed past times. Reid likes to look at us (especially Eric) using his peripheral vision. It's made for some pretty funny faces from him lately. Aiden has started singing to himself. Do-do-do. Do-do-do.
One final note. I made it! Today was teacher check-out day. It was a hard year, but I told myself when I was pregnant that I can do anything for a year. I was mainly thinking about nursing, but it also held true for teaching full-time with two babies, three preps (one of them was new), and sometimes only getting four to five hours of sleep. Next year, I'll be teaching part-time. I'm looking forward to spending extra time with my two little monkeys AND Eric, who is mainly home during the middle of the week.
Much thanks to our Super Nannies, Grandpa and Grandma!

My mom swears she never dressed C and I alike but we're always wearing the same outfit--only in different colors--in old photographs. So by that logic Aiden and Reid were dressed different in those blue and red hats :)
How are you only working part-time next year? Half days or something? Nice that u could work that out.
