This article was shared by a teacher on the AP-Statistics listserve. "How to Take American Health Care From Worst to First" is written by Billy Beane (former MLB player and current general manager of the Oakland A's), Newt Gingrich, and John Kerry. Makes me wonder how the three of them ended getting together to write an op-ed piece for the New York Times.

Interesting article. I recently started getting the magazine Mental Floss, and the most recent issue had an article about geniuses to watch. Most of them were scientists with new physics discoveries or growing synthetic organs. But one of them was Billy Beane and his use of sabermetrics. Now I've seen that word twice--funny how that always seems to happen :)
