Happy 4th Birthday, Reid and Aiden!

Reid and Aiden turned four years old today!

This morning, they were greeted with a bunch of balloons. The two big ones are from the movie Planes, which will be the theme for their party on Saturday.

They were excited to open their presents from Grandpa and Grandma Brusven. They received books and model planes from the National Museum of the US Air Force.

They were also excited to play with the bubble wrap.

Since the light was so good in their room this morning, I thought I would try to get a good birthday picture. It took quite a few tries and some jokes.

This ended up being the winner. Love it!

Ended up with plenty of outtakes.

Some reading time with my guys.

Testing out the model airplanes.

Aiden picked some dandelions for me. How sweet.

Our first birthday stop was to take the boys to buy new bikes with pedals. The 12" bikes were too small.

The 16" bikes were a better fit and Aiden, the dare-devil, quickly put in a few laps around the store. He gravitated to this bright green and black one right away. It has images of robots on it too, which was a bonus to Aiden.

The store didn't have any more 16" bikes up front, but they had a black, white, and red one in the back that Reid thought looked good from the picture in the catalog. Here he is running back to tell me about the bike he picked out from the catalog Eric showed him. He liked the number 16 on it, because sports players have numbers on their uniforms.

The next stop we made was Jump Street. It's one of those indoor play places. Eric had taken the boys to this one a couple of times this year while I've been at school. They first had to play the shoot em up video game. Luckily, they still don't know video games require quarters to work.

Next up, a ride in a bumpy 60's van.

The proud parents. Has it really been four years?!?

Air hockey. They mainly took turns letting each other score.

Trampolines!

Grandma Starrs and the 60's van.

Back home.

After nap time, we picked up the boys' bikes. Reid's needed to be assembled and Aiden's needed to be checked out.

We went to Gunther Toody's for supper.

Unfortunately, it started blowing and raining while we were eating supper so the boys couldn't ride their bikes. Luckily, they were excited to open presents from Grandma.

We also Skyped with Grandpa Brusven.

The boys ended the evening with a few dozen balloon laps.

It was a great day and I'm glad I was able to take a personal day to be able to spend it with Eric and the boys.
