On Tuesday, we took the boys in for their first visit to the dentist. It's meant to be very friendly, let's count your teeth and see if we can sneak in a cleaning type of affair. I'm happy to report that both boys did great and they were able to complete cleanings for both of them.
Aiden surprised me and volunteered to go first. He practically jumped into the chair.
Brenda was great about explaining what everything was and how it worked. The boys didn't seem apprehensive at all.
By the time it was Reid's turn, he was more than ready. He kept asking me how much longer he needed to be patient.
Testing out the water sprayer and sucker.
Aiden enjoyed the toy that must be in 99.9% of waiting rooms.
Checking out the hydraulics to see how high the chair can go.

They both chose chocolate for the polishing flavor. I'm boring and always go for mint. I'm afraid I won't like any of the other flavors.
Blindingly clean teeth:
After the assistant finished the cleanings, then Dr. Johnson came in to meet the boys and do a double-check. 20 teeth for both, 10 up/ 10 down. No cavities for either. Right now it looks like good spacing for permanent teeth to have room to come in. (Random Keri trivia: I only have one middle tooth in my bottom row of teeth because my orthodontist suggested the other tooth be pulled so my teeth wouldn't buckle from crowding. When I moved to Colorado and first visited Dr. Johnson 13 years ago and explained what happened, I could sense he thought that was sort of a weird solution. Too late to go back, but I do have nice, straight teeth after two rounds with a headgear and one round of braces.)
Aiden was caught sucking his thumb, which Dr. Johnson said he would like to see stopped in the next year or so. All I have to say is good luck, because I didn't stop sucking my thumb until 1st or 2nd grade when I had my first consultation visit with an orthodontist. It was a tough habit for me to break.
After the appointment they received these "Good Patient Award" certificates sponsored by Del Taco. I thought that was a cute idea. Now I just need to get my scrapbook albums and supplies organized so I have a place to put them.
