December Daily 21

At the doctor visit last Thursday, the ultrasound tech took tons of measurements. Everything with both of the babies is measuring right on track. Baby A, who is lying diagonally in the lower half of my tummy, is 14.1 oz and had a heart rate of 147 beats per minute. Baby B, who is lying across the top half of my tummy, is 13.9 oz. and had a heart rate of 142 beats per minute. Baby B is resting on his tummy, so the nurse said I may not feel him as much. He'll just be poking and jabbing his brother lying below him, instead of outward at me. Every once in a while I can feel him moving underneath my belly button. Baby A must have a little more room to move around because I feel him more often.

My fundal measurement was 28 centimeters this time. Remember, that would be the corresponding measurement if I were 28 weeks pregnant with a singleton. I read that some doctors refer to their larger patients as belonging to the "50 cm club". Not exactly a club I want to become a member of, but as long as the babies are healthy, sign me up. My blood pressure remains great: 120/70. For the next portion of my pregnancy, my doctor now wants me to come in every two weeks for a check up.

Here is a 21-week picture. The shirt I'm wearing was a Christmas present from my friend Ashley. On the front it has "Coming soon..." with a picture of two baby buggies. On the back is the picture of two little babies.
