December Daily 27

We were able to briefly FaceTime with Eric again this morning.

Found this in a Mollie Makes magazine.

Eric gave me a new Starbucks "You are Here" mug and I'm happy to report my tea strainer still fits the bigger mug perfectly.

We didn't accomplish much and stayed at home again. In the mean time Eric flew from Mexico to Minneapolis to Bismarck.

I didn't take many pictures today, so I snuck in and took these tonight.

Poor Reid is still not feeling 100% and decided not to eat supper tonight. Can't quite get rid of the tummy bug.

December Daily 26

We received about six inches of snow.

I worked on knitting a hat for Eva to match the one I made for Miri. That reminds me...
Yesterday during lunch, Reid told a joke out of the blue: "What do you call a clever knitter? A knit wit!" He said he heard it on an episode of Phineus and Ferb, a cartoon he sometimes watches on Netflix. It made me giggle.

We finally heard from Eric who is down in Mexico. The only Internet access he was able to get was in the lobby, but at least we knew he made it.

Merry Christmas!

Third day of Lego assembly and everything is complete. My favorite part of having Legos when I was a kid was putting them together, so I actually have enjoyed doing so for the boys. Aiden has a great imagination and has spent a lot of time playing with them. In this photo Reid is playing Mario Kart.

Later on the boys built a pillow fort.

Which became a huge pile of pillows when they expanded operations into the other room.

For supper, we went over to Grandma's house.

My mom's four grandkids contributed their handprints to make a Christmas tree painting. Kelsey found the great idea on Pinterest. I started the painting and then sent it back with my mom when she flew back to MN. The girls' handprints were added and the Kelsey added sharpie details on top of the paint. I really like how it turned out.

David called to FaceTime while we were at my mom's which was a special treat. Miri was crying off and on so we sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. It didn't really work, but David said she was out cold shortly after we hung up.

A Christmas Day selfie with my favorite little guys.

I finished stitching up the Hello Kitty cross stitch for Eva. So cute.

December Daily 24

Unfortunately, Reid got sick a couple hours after we put him to bed. I ended up sleeping on the floor of their room, and Eric took care of laundry duty. He left around 7:30 this morning to be in base for tomorrow's trip. The boys and I had a low key day.

Aiden playing Mario Kart 8.

While Reid hung out on the couch.

I spent most of the day putting together Legos. Reid did keep down some 7up and applesauce, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an easier night.

December Daily 23

We had a good time opening presents and playing with new toys. First up, the stockings.

IT'S THE POLICE HELICOPTER!!!

And a Wii U.

Santa did a good job. Glad he liked the cookies and milk.

Reid smiling about a Broncos calendar he received.

Me and Aiden.

Grandma came over with her gifts, including some new books.

David, Kelsey, Eva, and Miriam gave the boys super hero capes. They loved them!

I told them to show me their super hero pose.

Reid showing Grandma some of his presents.

Aiden and one of his many Lego sets.

Before supper we Skyped with Grandpa Brusven.

Grandma got talked into playing balloon volleyball with Reid while I finished making supper.

Reading books with Grandma.

Testing to see if Eric can still carry both of them. Not as easy of a task these days.

Reading books.

December Daily 22

The boys went to Pre-K today one last time before Winter Break for them. Eric and I did this so we could wrap their presents and finish getting ready for Christmas. Eric labeled.

I wrapped.

I sewed a small zippered pouch for my exercise teacher, Kelly. She's the best, so it was fun to be able to make something that fits her taste.

It rained some last night. Today we got snow.

Although it looked clear toward the north.

Only a picture of Reid in today's Pre-K emails.

Tonight we made cookies for Santa. Here Reid is holding up Aiden to look in the mixer.

Finally the boys wrote a note to Santa. Reid wrote "For Santa" and signed his name. He only needed me to spell, but he knew how to write all the letters himself.

Aiden signed his name, too.
Love this so much! How lucky we are to have these two.
