No Thyme

I have no thyme... I also have very little free time.

As we say at school "May happens". It seems that for this school year May started in April.
Busy attending meetings, helping with interviews, grading, getting ready for the Pi Mile on Sunday, planning lessons, rolling t-shirts, helping with a student leadership conference, administering a math placement exam at the middle school. And that was just this week's schedule.

The good news about all of this- on May 28th all of this will be done (because it has to be) and I'll be heading to Minnesota and Iowa.
Maybe I will have thyme by then.

I do have sage. So in that vein, here's some sage advice:
When planting sod, green side up.

My Dad and The Penguins

Visit my dad's blog for the related story.
(Dad's the tallest one in the back row. Found this photo online a few years ago- finally a good reason to post it.)

A Flash Mob Stunt that I Enjoyed

100 Single Ladies stop traffic with Beyonce's famous leggy dance in Piccadilly Circus, to celebrate the announcement by Trident of its free Beyonce gig in November.

FYI:
A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via social media or viral emails, rather than those organized by public relations firms or for a publicity stunt.

The Elephant in the Room

As one of my college friends recently commented:
"April showers may bring May flowers, but April snow really blows."

Unfortunately the recent rain/snow mix caused the window in the front living room to start leaking again. Eric had a guy come out to inspect the walls with an infrared camera this afternoon. Luckily it looks like the leak is coming from right above the window- not at the roof line as we had feared. Next step is to get a general contractor to come look at the flashing around the window.

Finished a new knitting project.

Luckily I have been a good saver of buttons (just like Ma) and had a matching pair to use for the eyes.

Tonight the resident lefty is playing a little Tiger Woods golf on the Wii and I am playing on the computer.

P.S. I still need to finish sorting through our spring break photos. Sorry to not have the job done yet.

Spring Time

Enjoying some much needed rain this evening- hoping it won't turn to snow.
Liked the spring-time images in an OfficeMax flier we received at school today.

Inspiring Spring Fabrics

Love these fabrics by Amy Butler. These are from her Lotus collection. She has great sewing projects as well- all super cute.

Happy Easter & Happy 18th Julie!

Happy Birthday to Julie! I remember your arrival very fondly- finally another girl cousin to balance out all those boys!

My Grandma's Easter sugar egg. I also inherited a Nativity scene from my mom- I have the birth and Crucifixion of Jesus sitting together on my counter. Don't see those together very often.

Leaving Wyoming and heading back into Colorado. (Perfect timing on the Wyo picture- managed to capture a horse trailer in the shot.)

The surprising view as I left for exercise class on Saturday morning. The return of hot air balloons to our neighborhood.
